I’m Blake Holland, a sports reporter and anchor for CBS 4 and NBC 23 in the Rio Grande Valley. You can catch me during the week on Valley Sports Central as a weekday reporter and weekend anchor. I’m also the host of Vaqueros Nation, a 30-minute weekly show highlighting the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s athletic programs.

I graduated with honors from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2022, earning a degree in broadcast journalism. Before making my way to South Texas, I worked at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Missouri, where I gained experience as a news reporter, producer, and sports reporter/anchor.

My love for sports started early — I had a basketball in my hands before I could walk. Growing up as a two-sport athlete taught me lessons that continue to shape how I tell stories today. I believe sports are about more than wins and losses; they bring people together, impact lives, and help shape the next generation.

I’m a proud St. Louis native and a lifelong fan of the Cardinals and Blues. When I’m not in the newsroom, you’ll usually find me on the golf course or at home spending time with my cat, Gucci.
